WILL PIER’s PLAN for Sonoma County

I am running for 1st District Supervisor to answer an urgent need. Our economy, our environment and our well-being are integrally related. We need a comprehensive, long-term management plan for sustainability. 

I will lead the Board of Supervisors in creating a robust county government based on the “Three E’s”  – Ecology, Economy and Equality.  I am determined to create more housing affordable to working families, alternative transportation solutions that reduce greenhouse gases and automobile dependency and a sustainable local economy.

We need to not only make, but follow through with comprehensive, long range plans for water resources, health care services, transportation, and affordable housing.

As your Supervisor I will work tirelessly to implement these and all programs that will make Sonoma County safe, green and affordable for our children, our grandchildren and generations to come.

• Implement long-term sustainable plan for water, our public trust resource.

• Improve public safety for all communities throughout the County
• Support agriculture, organic farming and tourism.

• Promote day labor centers, affordable housing and living wage.

• Promote green building, technology & green collar jobs.

• Expand agricultural preserves and open space.

• Reduce carbon footprint throughout County.

• Develop recreational facilities and create programs

to support youth and seniors.

• Revive County health and mental health care services.

• Stop hauling our waste out of county - create a profitable ‘zero waste’ solution.

• Expand public transportation, bike paths and support the SMART Train.

• Achieve cooperation between Cities and the County.
